Raised in London by a Jamaican mother and Saint-Lucian father, The Good Front Room's head chef Dom got a flair for Caribbean cooking from a young age. This passion took him through several prestigious kitchens and saw him crowned the winner of Channel 4's Five Star Kitchen: Britain's Next Great Chef.

Now, he puts his passion into the menu at this dreamy Dalston spot. Expect to tuck into certified classics and creative dishes, from jerk chicken and curry goat to rum and raisin glazed pork belly, and short rib brown stew.

Dumbo Shoreditch combines minimalism and mouth-watering flavour in a clean, modern setting on Bethnal Green Road. Known for its cult smashburgers, Dumbo serves perfectly seared premium beef patties on soft potato brioche buns with classic American cheese and tangy pickles.

The pared-back menu and sleek interiors reflect its no-nonsense approach: top-tier ingredients and bold flavours served fast, making it a standout addition to East London's dining scene.

Boasting tofu noodles, yummy dumplings, Taiwanese fried chicken and much more, BAO Noodle Shop is one of the best food spots in Shoreditch. Check out their top-notch selection of cocktails to pair, including their 9000 year old punch.

It's a very affordable choice, even offering some small plates for £5 or less. Expect a casual look that's inspired by the noodle shops of Taiwan, perfect for a quick lunch.

HS&Co. can be found in Stratford, close to the tube station. This stylish space is split into two different dining areas: one that's more formal and another that's perfect for a casual date night or meal out with friends.

This popular spot has been around since 2016, specialising in quality British comfort food and aged steaks. Get stuck into the likes of slow-cooked braised lamb, tomahawk steaks or a traditional roast dinner here.

Making their mark on the capital's emerging Nikkei restaurant cuisine is Bamboo Mat, located in Stratford's laid-back East Village. Its chef-owners have previously worked at Chotto Matte, Sushisamba and Lucky Cat, promising a wealth of expertise.

Make your way over to this trendy spot to delve into seabass ceviche, not to mention beautifully prepared sushi rolls, sashimi and a whole host of mains - our favourite is the chicken anticucho. They do an excellent bottomless brunch too, featuring a scrumptious set menu and 90 minutes of free-flowing drinks.

Singburi has cemented its place as a London institution, evolving from its Leytonstone origins and famously elusive booking system that only added to its mystique. Now in its new home, Singburi 2.0 has retained all of the charm that made the place such a cult favourite.

With head chef Sirichai 'Siri' Kularbwong at the helm, it serves up bold dishes that balance heat and sweetness, from wild ginger chicken thighs to smoked pork belly. Over the years, Singburi has rightly received all kinds of accolades, including Time Out's Restaurant of the Year in 2021 and a place on the National Restaurant Awards list.

With exposed brick, low hanging lighting and a brushed steel bar, Lagana serves up a heavy side of East London with its delicious Greek dishes. Lively and laidback all at once, it's perfect for a spontaneous bite to eat or long, leisurely dinners that linger into the night. 

The menu is packed with Greek-inspired Mediterranean dishes, from seabass ceviche and prawns saganaki to chicken thighs and lamb belly. There's just as much to love on the drinks list, with a choice of easy drinking wines and colourful cocktails.

Located on Bethnal Green's Paradise Row and tucked beneath the railway arches, Fatto A Mano is an authentic pizza restaurant that's been serving up delicious Neapolitan eats since its dough-fuelled ventures began in Brighton in 2015. 

Their eats are crafted fresh daily with the finest Italian 00 flour, water, salt, and yeast, and proved for at least 24 hours. Our favourites include the Diavola, topped with tomato, spianata (spicy salami), chilli, mozzarella, parmesan and basil, and the lasagne pizza, covered in bechamel sauce.

Located moments away from Regent's Canal, Miga is a family-run Korean restaurant that combines heritage and hospitality with high-quality cooking. Their culinary roots date back to 1970s Seoul, and today a father and two sons operate at the venue.

The minimalist interiors let the food shine, featuring rustic wooden furniture and simple white walls that showcase the restaurant's origin tale. On the menu? Think sweet potato glass noodles, soy-braised short ribs, fiery king prawns and more.
